Music is more than just art… it is a living memory.
Every note, every rhythm tells a story — the story of a people, a journey, and a deep connection between Cameroon and Great Britain. 🇨🇲🤝🇬🇧

In the past, British hymns and choral traditions influenced the sounds of Cameroon.
Today, the Cameroonian diaspora in England is bringing that story to life again — blending British gospel, bikutsi, and afrobeat into a single harmony. 🎤🥁

At Ensemble Manchester, through the project Connecting to our Cameroonian Roots, we celebrate this intergenerational transmission:
children rediscover their parents’ songs,
elders pass down their melodies,
and music becomes a bridge between past and future, between two cultures that enrich one another. 🌍✨

Because memory is not only written in books —
it is sung, danced, and shared. 🎵❤️
